Jewish Berlin tour is an exciting dive into the history of this city. During the tour you will learn:

IMPORTANTPlease bring some change in EUR for toilet stops, beverages and for lunch. Please ask our tour guide in Berlin to arrange for a stop at an ATM if you do not have EUR with you. US dollars are not accepted in Germany.

The route of the tour and time spent in Berlin is subject to ship’s docking times, traffic, special events and any other circumstances out of our control. Please note we will not be able to provide a refund if the touring time has to be shortened because of any of the above.

Gathering the group.

Your tour starts directly in front of the cruise terminal. Your bus driver will meet you at your ship and bring you to Berlin in a modern, air-conditioned bus.

09.00 - 12.00

Driving time Warnemünde / Berlin with a restroom stop on the way.

12:00 – 12:30

Meeting the local Berlin guide at Museum Island with introduction to the Jewish history and visit to Memorial of Mother holding her dead Son.

12:30 – 14:00

A walking tour of the Jewish Quarter including the oldest Jewish cemetery, the Otto Weidt workshop, as well as the former Jewish boy’s and girl’s school and the New Synagogue

The tour continues with a tour of East Berlin: Unter den Linden, Bebel Platz (Book Burning Square). We will take a photo stop at Reichstag and walk through the Brandenburg Gate, Paris Square and the Holocaust Memorial, before heading to the former SS and Gestapo Headquarter known as the Topography of Terror and the Berlin Wall where we will have a photo stop.

Meeting the local Berlin guide at Charlottenburg castle with a chance to stretch your legs and get an introduction to the city.

12:30 – 14:00

We start by touring the former allied sectors in the west of the city; the Kurfürstendamm, KaDeWe (department store of the West), Kaiser William Memorial Church, the Tiergarten, Victory Column and the Bellevue Palace. At the German Parliament, the Reichstag we will have a chance to get off the bus and walk through the Brandenburg Gate in Paris Square as well as walking through the impressive Holocaust memorial.

14:00 – 15:00

Free time for lunch.

15:00 – 18:00

The tour continues with the historic heart of the city in the former Soviet sector of East Berlin. First we will focus on the former Jewish Quarter taking time to walk around and see all the main sights including the New Synagogue. We will then head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Museum Island and Käthe Kollwitz WWII memorial for a photo stop, then down Unter den Linden past Bebel Platz (Book Burning Square) and on to Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, the Topography of Terror, and of course the Berlin Wall where we will have a photo stop.
