The main museum complex includes the Winter Palace (former official winter-time residence of the tsars), Small, Old and New Hermitage buildings. Mostly they have collections of West European Art (Old Masters) and ancient cultures. The Hermitage Special Treasuries (Gold and Diamon Rooms) are also located here.
The General Staff building of the Hermitage has a display of world-famous Hermitage Impressionists and Postimpressionists, Matisse and Picasso. Besides those, Faberge Memorial exhibition attracts a lot of visitors. Temporary exhibitions and art history lectures are conducted here too.
