Inside visits: Upon your choice it can be either Vasa Ship museum or Drottingholm Palace (=Royal Palace). You choose a venue when ordering the tour and we’ll make all the necessary arrangements.
Also included: a boat ride across the lake from the Old Town (=Gamla Stan) to Djurgarden (=Museum island)

10:00 – Meeting your private guide and driver at the exit gate of the port.
10:00-11:30 – Driving tour of the city centre with stops and short walks by the following sights: Parliament building, Town Hall and the best viewing points of Stockholm to see the different districts and compare the historic times and architecture.
11:30-12:30 – Walking tour of Gamla Stan (=the Old Town). During the walking tour your guide will take you to: St. Nicholas Cathedral, Royal Palace, Old and New Parliament buildings, Noble Committee, Riddarholmen (= Knights’ Island) and the Cathedral serving as burial vault for the Swedish kings.
12:30-12:45 – Boat ride from Gamla Stan to Djurgarden. YOur impression of the city will not be complete if you don’t see it from water. The boat ride will take you to the most impressive street of Stockholm – Strand. You will see the Old Town from water and then the boat will take you to the Museum Island.
13:00-14:00 – Guided tour of one museum upon your choice: either Vasa Museum or Drottingholm Palace. Vasa Museum is one of Stockholm’s main attractions. The Vasa is a real warship resembling the famous “Flying Dutchman” (from “Pirates of the Caribbeans”. It’s a 17th century ship that sank without getting far away from the docks on its maiden voyage. Ceturies after that it was lifted from the bottom and converted into a museum, where you can see not only details of the vessel, but also life and personal belongings of the sailors. Drottingholm Palace is home to the Swedish Royal family and was the first Swedish cultural monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
14:00-15:30 – After the inside visit you will have free time that can be used for lunch (or coffee-break) and/or visiting other museums, which are literally round the corner: Junibaken (children’s museum of Astrid Lingren’s fairy tales), Nordic Peoples museum, Skansen open air museum or Absolut Vodka museum. Your guide will provide you detailed instructions on how to find the bus for transfer back to the port.
15:40 – pick up by bus, transfer to the port terminal.
16:00 – return on board the cruise ship.
