10:00-12:30 – Walking tour of Riga Old Town and Art Nouveau district. During your Riga sightseeing tour you will see: Dome Cathedral (dating back to the 13th century), Knight’s Castle (nowadays the presidential palace), Latvian Parliament building, several medieval churches, including St. Peter’s church with its outstanding viewing platform on top the tallest spire in the city. In one of the city corners you’ll find the powder tower and part pf the medieval town wall. You will learn the story of Roland (the patron saint of Riga) and see the magnificent guild house of the Blackheads’ guild. You will walk along the winding narrow streets of Old Riga to the Freedom Monument and see the moat and the park belt of the Old Town. You will walk around the district of Art Nouveau buildings dating back to the early 20th century and admire the spirit of Riga’s architects.
12:30 – the tour will finish in the Old Town, where you’ll have free time to explore on your own. The guide will explain you options for museum lovers, lunch/snack and shopping.
Getting back to the port on your own. The harbour is within 15 minutes walk from the finishing point.
